Nothing here is certified or audited — this is simply an honest account of the choices that shaped the farm.
The farm shares this land with elephants that have walked it long before the cottages went up. Rather than fence them out, the paths across the property are deliberately left open — the cost of a little more wandering wildlife in exchange for not needing walls.
Some of what's on the plate is grown on the farm's own four acres. The rest comes from farmers and the market nearby. We'd rather say that plainly than dress it up as fully self-sufficient when it isn't.
Most of the cottages are timber-framed and raised on stilts rather than cut into the hillside — smaller footprint, less earth disturbed to put a roof up.
